The Craft Shop, Snape Maltings

We were happy to work alongside R W Curle Ltd to provide a lighting design for the refurbishment of the Craft Shop area at Snape Maltings.

The existing track lighting was an old and dated technology that was failing due to overheating. This also came with high energy costs, poor light levels, and regular lamp changes.

We used the UK manufactured product Lumapar by Illuma Lighting and produced a new lighting design utilising LED technology. This gave a much higher light level and increased energy efficiency. We achieved excellent energy savings by replacing the 50W halogen lamps with 8W LED equivalents.

By using LED technology, this reduces the heat in the room compared to what was being generated by the old existing halogen lamps. LED lamps run much cooler which will help if the room is air conditioned – this reduces the carbon levels meaning the air conditioning units run at reduced level as the room temperature is lower than what it was with the previous light fittings.

The track and track fittings came with a 5-year warranty for peace of mind with no further lamp changes required.
